据外媒报道，《饥饿游戏》将拍摄前传电影。狮门宣布已开始运作将小说原作者Suzanne Collins的新作——《饥饿游戏》前传书《鸣鸟与蛇的歌谣》电影化。将由《饥饿游戏2、3》导演弗朗西斯·劳伦斯回归执导，第二部编剧Michael Arndt回归写剧本。
《鸣鸟与蛇的歌谣》将于5月19日发行，设定在现三部曲开始的64年前，第10届饥饿游戏时期的帕纳姆世界，“提出关于权力、使用暴力和人性真相的问题”。目前电影尚无演员选角消息。
